A group of 28 persons who invested money in shut down suspected money
launderer and pyramid scheme DMG started a hunger strike Saturday to
support jailed DMG director David Murcia Guzman.
The protesters demand the government accepts Murcia’s offer to allow him to start a holding, making all people who lost their money after the shut down of the company shareholders of the company, giving them the opportunity to earn back their money over time.
The government Sunday announced it will facilitate loans to those who lost their money in DMG. Victims will be able to borrow in between 2 and 10 million pesos to get their life back in order.
Millions of dollars that were invested in the company are still
missing. Murcia refuses to cooperate with justice on the Prosecution’s
terms to help victims of the company recover their money. Hundreds of thousands of Colombians invested money in the company.
The group of 28, staying in the center of Bogotá, does not say how long they plan to be on hunger strike.
