Demobilized paramilitary leader Ever ‘HH’ Veloza will be on trial for
200 crimes. The former boss of the Calima and Banana bloc of the AUC
has already admitted the responsibility of 1,200 murders.
‘HH’, one of the few paramilitary leaders that has not yet been extradited to the United States will be trialed according to the Justice and Peace law, that grants him a lower sentence in exchange for cooperation with justice and reparation of his victims.
Veloza has been heard by the prosecution 38 times in the past months. He will be on trial for enforced disappearance, aggravated murder and the recruitment of children.
The trial starts October 27.
