A network trafficking weapons and explosives was broken up when 32 suspected arms dealers were captured in a seven-city, joint operation between the Colombian national army and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The traffickers reportedly bought weapons outside of the country and sold them on to illegal armed groups, including the FARC, in Colombia.
The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that former members of the DAS and police, as well as five former and active members of the military, are among those captured.
