Portuguese soccer team FC Porto have signed Colombian talent James Rodriguez, who is set to spend the next four years in the European country.
Rodriguez, 18, began his career at Envigado in 2006 and was picked up by Argentinian outfit Banfield at the age of 16. In 2009, he earned his spot in the club’s first team. In total the midfielder scored ten goals in 42 games.
Porto reportedly paid 5.1 million Euros for the player, who was born in Cucucta and turns 19 on July 12.
While Rodriguez is technically a midfielder, he can also assume a more attacking role and is capable of playing on the wings.
In Portugal, Rodriguez will team up with fellow countrymen Freddy Guarin and Radamel Falcao.
