The Cartagena International Film Festival kicked off Thursday with a screening of Colombian film Choco, which featured at the Berlin Film Festival last week.
Now in it’s 52nd year, the Cartagena festival includes more than 200 films, mainly from the Spanish-speaking world, as well as a variety artistic contributions.
Festival Director Monika Wagenburg said, “This year’s festival is unmissable, combining a first-rate program, the best possible theater conditions, the opportunity to meet and talk with the directors of most of the films, and several high-profile film personalities.”
The Cartagena International Film Festival is Latin America’s oldest film festival and most of the events are free to enter.
The festival runs until Wednesday February 29.
