Santa Marta, Colombia’s oldest city, will receive 645 million pesos, around US$ 300,000, from the authorities to promote tourism.
Mayor of the District, Juan Pablo Diaz Granados Pinedo said Tuesday that Santa Marta will receive financial support from the Colombian Tourism Promotion Fund so it can be more competitive in promoting tourism on a domestic and international level, El Informador reported.
The strategy will be to promote the image of the capital of the Magdalena department as “a beautiful, magical and competitive” Caribbean city.
