The Prosecutor General’s Office is pressing charges against fifteen military personnel who stand accused of killing three men and presenting their bodies as FARC combatants killed in battle.
The fifteen members of the military could face up to 40 years in the prison if found guilty.
The “false positives” scandal emerged in September 2008, when soldiers were accused of kidnapping and murdering eleven young men from Soacha, a town outside Bogota.
There are 2,000 members of the Colombian military currently facing investigations for false positive cases.
