Oswaldo Ochoa Garcia, a lawyer representing demobilized paramilitaries, was assassinated in downtown Bogota, W Radio reported Thursday.
Ochoa was travelling in a taxi when two gunmen on a motorcycle shot him several times.
The lawyer represented 15 demobilized members of the Montes de Maria bloc of the AUC paramilitary coalition, as well as bloc leader “Rodrigo Cadena” and Mojana Bloc leader Eder “Ramon Mojana” Pedraza Peña, who was extradited to the U.S. in August.
Before the assassination of Ochoa Garcia, the AUC raised concerns that there was a lack of security for the lawyers and families of demobilized paramilitaries.
