An Israeli citizen, who has lived in Colombia the past four years, was kidnapped in Bogota, his family told Israeli media.
The father of Yehonathan Titzhaki told Israeli newswebsite ynetnews.com his son has been missing for three days. The son’s Colombian girlfriend told his family Titzhaki was kidnapped.
“He was kidnapped two days ago. I spoke to
the Foreign Ministry, which said they were dealing with the matter in
full force. I am very concerned and don’t know what to do anymore. It
completely took me by surprise,” father Benny told ynet.
He says Titzhaki’s girlfriend received an e-mail of the allegedly kidnapped Israeli saying “I’m in major trouble and I’m scared I’m going to get killed.”
Yitzhai further said he believes his son
sent the e-mail from the kidnappers’ computer and that he tried to
speak to his son’s girlfriend who is absolutely devastated.
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not confirm the kidnapping, but said the consulate in Bogota is handling the case.
Titzhaki has been living with his Colombian girlfriend in Cali for the past four years. The kidnapping allegedly took place in Bogota where the Israeli was for business.
