Actress and former Miss Colombia Paola Turbay will be starring in U.S.
police drama series The Closer, continuing her career on U.S.
television, but this time kicking in doors and jumping over cars.
The Houston-born former Miss Bogotá, Miss Colombia and first runner up at the 1992 Miss Universe already was guest starring in the ABC series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Meteor and Californication, but El Closer is of a differnet caliber; a more violent one.
“They were looking for a latina detective for this fifth season, a physically strong and efficient woman. I went to do the audition and the next Friday I was in a meeting with all the actors receiving the scripts,” Turbay told Colombian newspaper El Tiempo.
The role Turbay plays is that of the chief of the CIS, a LAPD assistance squad. “My department is the one that has tokick in teh doors and enter a building will weapons pulled to make sure there is no danger,” Turbay continues. “We do all the heavy work. I already had to kick in doors, jump over cars, jump out a window, fall on a car and fall off it with my weapon pulled.
Turbay does not deny she may stick to action role. “If on the way a character appears in a good script, I take it,” she says.
