An Antioquian Court on Monday sentenced ex-paramilitary boss, Freddy Rendon Herrera, to 14 years in prison for the murder of a minor.
The Second Criminal Court of the Specialized Circuit of Antioquia sentenced Rendon Herrera, alias ‘El Aleman’, former commander of an AUC paramilitary faction, to 14 years for his orchestration of the murder of a minor in Janurary 2005, reported newspaper El Espectador on Monday.
According to investigation, the murder occured after the paramilitaries identified the child as an informant for subersive organizations in the Choco and Uraba regions of Colombia.
‘El Aleman’ was initially sentenced to 28 years imprisonment but his sentence was cut in half after the demobilized paramilitary boss upheld a plea bargain.
Rendon Herrera is detained at a maximum security prison in Antioquia and is also wanted by the United States on drug trafficking charges.
