The Organization of American States (OAS) Wednesday unanimously condemned the massacre of at least eight Awá indigenous people by the FARC.
Colombia had files a resolution to condemn the massacre and wanted all OAS members to explicitly condemn the multiple homicide.
“A group like the FARC that turned into a drug cartel does not deserve any political or judicial space,” Colombian ambassador to the OAS, Camilo Ospina said.
The resolution was signed by all 34 members of the OAS.
The FARC say they executed eight Awá because they were army informants. Representatives of the indigenous themselves say 27 of their people were murdered.
