In light of an investigatin, the governor of Antioquia, Colombia, denies having paramilitary ties.
“I have never in my life needed paramilitaries, guerrillas or narco-traffickers in my political career. My record is clear,” Luis Alfredo Ramos said on W Radio Thursday.
The governor said that the Supreme Court never notified him of the investigation into his alleged links to paramilitaries and that he has never had legal problems.
The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court opened a preliminary investigation of Ramos Wednesday, who was incriminated by an extradited member of the AUC of accepting support from the illegal armed group during his Senate race in 2002.
