The popular Colombian hip-hop group, ChoQuibTown, on Saturday released a remix to one of their most popular songs of 2012.
The remix of “Hasta El Techno” features Buxxi and DJ Twolipan and infuses more Jamaican-style influences into the electronic melody. The accompanying music video was produced by Plan 9 and filmed on San Andres. The video captures a mix of scenes shot at a skate park, the recording studio, and the concert hall. The group said that the skate park was used because it is a common sport known throughout the entire world.
Tostao, a ChocQuibTown member explained that the video, “recreates the moments [that occur] when [you are] recording a song and all the funny situations that happen in a studio when you do this kind of work.”
“I wanted to make a song with an artist-friend of Chocquib-House…and then share with fans…and thus continue connecting the world with our roots,” said Tostao.
After this remix, ChocQuibTown will finalize the details for their next release that corresponds to the fourth single on the “Eso es Lo Que Hay” album which was nominated in 2012 for a Latin Grammy Award. The Colombian group was nominated for record of the year, album of the year, and alternative album of the year.
