A circus from western Colombia will perform three shows at the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena next month, El Espectador reported Thursday.
The Delirium Circus is a mixed spectacle of circus arts and traditional Colombian dances which has delighted audiences in Cali for the past six years.
The group will perform three times in the days leading up to and during the Summit, which will bring together 34 heads of state, including Barack Obama, to discuss regional issues.
In the last two performances, the troupe will present a new show designed specifically for the Summit entitled “Caribbean and Pacific Salsa.”
Cali dancers Carlos Paz and Santiago Ayala feature in the performances alongside the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra, which will play songs by more than 100 different Colombian folk artists.
