Brazilian airline TAM announced plans to open a new route between Sao Paulo and Bogota.

TAM – Brazil’s biggest airline – will run the route between Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos airport and the Colombian capital.
Libano Barroso, a spokesperson for the airline, explained that Colombia is an attractive market for the industry due to the growth of its economy and the importance of its aviation market.
Officials from the airline predict that flights will begin in the second half of this year.
Other international airlines to open new routes to Colombia include German carrier Luthansa and Singapore Airlines.
Caribbean-based Dutch Antilles Express Airlines also recently announced it is opening a new direct route between the Caribbean island of Curaçao and Colombia’s port city Cartagena.
