Parents of a three-year-old girl that is currently in a
Cartagena hospital, claim that ‘witches and goblins’ are the
reason their daughter is brain dead.
The girl was admitted to a hospital in the north-east of Cartagena showing multiple hematomas and a skull fracture. According to hospital sources, she is brain dead and is only kept alive by artificial means.
“The girl arrived with several hematomas on the body and was in comatic state. We first thought it could be some sort of blood-related problem but test results were normal. We then performed an X-Ray on her skull and a brain test, which showed that she had a hematoma and a fracture at the level of her skull, said doctor Ángel Guzmán.
Authorities are currently investigating whether child abuse could be the case.
However, parents and neighbours claim that supernatural powers were in fact the cause of the girl’s medical situation: “I don’t know how this could have happened,” said the girl’s mother, Katina Pérez. “I think it’s a witch or a goblin that is chasing her, how can they think that I could abuse my own child like this.”
Neighbour Claudio Madera supported the mom, saying that she thinks “it was an attack by a witch or a goblin, because two months ago, my cousin’s daughter woke up with crosses and letters written on her back”.
The girl’s siblings showed no signs of physical abuse, according to the well-being institute.
