Chants, kicks, claps – and maybe the odd cat-fight – will be on the cards when Colombia’s national cheerleading team travel to the U.S. for the Cheerleading World Championships.
In the coming weeks 80 young Colombians, aged between 15 and 25, will join hundreds of the world’s most beautiful and sprightly athletes at the international competition, being held in Orlando, Florida on April 22 and 23.
Colombia’s team will be somersaulting their hearts out to win gold and trump their 2009 success, when they won silver and bronze medals in several of the contest’s categories.
But pitted against contestants from 60 different countries, the Colombian cartwheelers are really going to have to pull out the stops to wow the scrupulous judges.
Give me a C, give me an O, give me an L, O, M, B, I, A – go Colombia!
