Vallenato hero Diomedez Diaz was taken to a hospital in the north of Colombia Tuesday after a car accident.
The car in which the iconic singer was transported reportedly crashed in a rural area just north of the city of Valledupar, Cesar.
According to newspaper El Tiempo, Diomedes’ driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree after an animal unexpectedly crossed the road.
The bad boy of the folkloric vallenato genre was hospitalized last year after contracting pneumonia.
The 55-year-old Diomedes is one of the most widely recognized vallenato singers in Colombia.
