Shakira teams up with Pitbull for new single ‘Get it started’

by Olle Ohlsen Pettersson June 26, 2012

Shakira

Colombian pop star Shakira has collaborated with Cuban-American rapper Pitbull on his new track “Get it started,” the first single from his new album “Global Warming,” reported Colombian newspaper El Heraldo.

According to Colombian newspaper El Heraldo, Shakira’s contribution to the four-minute song included leading and backing vocal performances.

The two artists have already collaborated before in 2010 on the Shakira song “Rabiosa.” According to various news media, the track was leaked on the internet in early spring.

“Global Warming” is Pitbull’s follow-up to 2011’s chart topping LP “Planet Pit,” which featured the hits “Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)” and “Give Me Everything.” The album is scheduled to be released later this summer.
