Porno causes collapse of congress internet connection

by Adriaan Alsema December 24, 2010

Colombia news - prepagos

Excessive use of porno and dating websites is the reason the internet connection of Colombia’s congress is slow and frequently collapses.

Congressmen and congress employees have long complained of the frequent collapses and the slow internet connection in the offices of Representatives of the House.

An internal investigation proved that from computers belonging to the offices of the Representatives “5 thousand websites with pornographic content and 3 thousand websites offer the service to find a date” have been visited in the past few weeks, which is causing the internet connection to be slow and frequently collapse, technicians told newspaper El Tiempo.

According to the paper, the representatives received a letter early December wherein they were told the ICT department was going to block porno and dating websites to “avoid access to pages that are not beneficial to carrying out the legislative work like porno, p2p programs, downloading free programs, (MSN) messenger, Yahoo messenger and other counterproductive services that are not required for the legislative task.”
