Santa Fe and Pasto on Wednesday drew 1-1 in the first leg of the final of this year’s first of two soccer leagues.
The two teams met in the southwestern Colombian city of Pasto ahead of Sunday’s last leg of the final in Bogota.
The home side took the lead on 25 minutes when Kevin Rendon fired a free-kick past Santa Fe goalkeeper Camilo Vargas.
Following that goal, the home team took initiative of the game, pushing Santa Fe in the defense.
But, following the breakthrough, it was the away side that took the initiative and they got their just rewards two minutes before half-time. Argentine play-maker Omar Perez whipped in a corner and Julian Quiñones rose highest to head the away side level.
Neither one of the teams was able to take the lead in the second half, leaving the final decision for Sunday when both teams play in Santa Fe’s home town Bogota.
