Three people were fatally shot and one lynched in a spontaneous outburst of violence in the Caribbean coast city Barranquilla on Sunday.
According to witnesses, local merchant Alvaro Enrique Palmera was driving drunk, when he was held up by a group of people blocking the street.
The suspect subsequently pulled his gun and fired against the crowd, killing one young man.
Palmera then fled to his home, but was followed by an angry mob that began throwing sticks and stones at the residency.
The suspected killer then fired through the windows injuring a 19-year old man and killing two men aged 19 and 34.
The merchant again fled, but was caught up by the crowd that attacked the murder suspect with machetes, sticks and stones.
By the time authorities got to the scene and paramedics got to the victim, he had already died.
Police have not made any arrests.
