Authorities in the central Colombian city of Neiva are on high alert after a grenade injured at least two and a bomb squad was forced to deactivate a second explosive device.
According to several media reports, at least two policemen were injured around 10PM when unknown men threw a grenade at a police post in the south-east of the city.
Shortly after, an explosive was found in the downtown area of the city, only 30 feet away from local newspaper La Nacion and half a block from the chamber of commerce.
A bomb squad robot was able to deactivate the device, intelligence agency DAS told media.
Neiva, the capital of the Huila department, is known to have high FARC activity. The city has frequently been target of attacks by the guerrillas who are accused of extorting local businesses.
