Medellin’s 2013 Flower Festival program

by | Jun 24, 2013

Colombia’s second largest city Medellin released the program for its annual Flower Festival, one of the city’s most important cultural events of the year.

As usual, the 13-day festival is centered around the flower parade, during which flower growers carry elaborate flower arrangements known as “silletas” on their backs.

Other prominent elements of the festival, held between July 26 and August 11, are the horse parade and the vintage car parade.

Additionally, the city will host several orchid and parrot exhibitions and an abundance of concerts.
