Police in the northeast of Colombia have arrested a man who was trying to sell his eight-month-old baby for $110, local media reported Sunday.

According to media reports, the man was arrested while offering to sell his child on a street in the city of Bucaramanga.

Authorities said the suspect had violently taken his baby from the mother after a fight.

The 57-year-old man will have to face charges of human trafficking. The baby was surrendered to Colombia’s family welfare institute.
