Authorities warn of fake condoms in central Colombia

by Olle Ohlsen Pettersson June 25, 2012

Condoms

Local authorities in the central department of Antioquia warned that a batch of defective, counterfeit condoms have reached the market, reported Caracol radio Monday.

The police said they seized 2,000 counterfeit condoms of lesser quality than the originals.

Apparently, the counterfeits used established brand names with different color patterns and logos to fool customers.

The police encouraged people to only buy condoms from known retailers and to avoid buying those with different colors and logos than the originals.
