Golf Channel filming special on Colombian golf courses

Producers of U.S. television network Golf Channel are in Colombia to shoot a a special on the country’s golf courses, tourism and export promotion agency Proexport announced Wednesday.

According to the agency, a television crew is visiting the cities of Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Bucaramanga and Pereira to film the local gold courses.

The trip was sponsored by Proexport that has actively been promoting golf as one of Colombia’s tourism potentials.

“The place that drew my attention most was Cartagena,” host Juan Pablo Alvarez told Proexport, “Apart from its ocean view course, the city is unique. Its historic center and gastronomic offer captivated me.”

According to Proexport, Colombia has some 50 gold courses around the country.
