Colombian rebel group FARC have recruited at least 60 minors from Panama, one of the alleged recruits said on Panamian television.
In an interview with Panamian television network TVN, the boy said he had been recruited from the border province of Darien and spent three months with the Colombian guerrillas before escaping back to Panama.
The alleged recruit said he was trained to handle firearms and in several war tactics.
According to the boy, he had met approximately 60 other children from the south of Panama, who also had been recruited by the FARC.
The television network reported that the government of Panama is discussing the possibility of charging the FARC for the recruitment and trafficking of minors.
