Police captured a suspected con man who pretended to be a doctor and was offering cheap
plastic surgery to women in South Bogota, reported Radio Caracol on
Tuesday.
The Police arrested Jorge Veloza, 31-years-old, who mostly met his potential clients in beauty salons and convinced the women to undergo plastic surgery at very low costs.
The false doctor demanded advanced payment from his clients for administrative work before the surgery. As he was to receive another advanced payment, police captured Veloza.
The police found in his bag among other things a medical overall, surgical gloves, a stethoscope, basic surgical equipment and various drugs.
The “doctor” has no degree, but a High School diploma. He is being accused of deceiving around 20 women between 20 and 40 years old, say the authorities.
