by Adriaan Alsema January 15, 2011

Colombia news - Ketty

Colombian authorities on Friday arrested a suspected top member of drug gang “Los Rastrojos,” fifteen minutes after he was released from prison.

Marlon Valencia Portocarrera, alias “La Ketty,” was set free after a judge ruled the prosecution had violated the suspect’s rights after prosecutors failed to proceed with his trial within the legal term.

According to newspaper El Tiempo, the suspected drug trafficker told the arresting officers to “save me the bullshit. If you’re going to arrest me. Arrest me,” when read his rights.

“La Ketty” is said to be second in command in one of Colombia’s most powerful drug cartel and us wanted by the United States to face drug trafficking charges.
