Colombiatex, Colombia’s biggest fair for textile manufacturers and designers, on Tuesday opened to some 30,000 visitors.
In the exposition, some 520 exporters and 1,500 international buyers participated. The expo is expected to draw in some 30,000 visitors during its open hours from Tuesday to Thursday. The fair will be held in the Palace of Expositions in Colombia’s second largest city, Medellin, and is thought to accumulate some $120 million dollars.
The textile sector will occupy close to 30,000 square feet with its exhibition at Medellin’s Plaza Major. National and international buyers will be offered prime textiles of various types and also quality industry goods like buttons, buckles and clasps.
Visitors are coming from places like Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Ecuador to see the exposition.
With the objective of improving trade relations with the European Union, diversify markets and make use of new opportunities, the 25th Colombiatex of the Americas will be dedicated to the free trade agreement with the European Union, which was recently passed by the European Parliament
The exposition will follow four major themes.
