Colombian stocks fell Thursday as a drop in global oil prices pushed down shares of locally traded oil stocks Ecopetrol and Pacific Rubiales.
The Colcap index, which encompasses the country’s blue-chip stocks, dipped 0.11% to close at 1,645.06 points.
Shares of state-controlled Ecopetrol dipped 0.5% to COP3,860, while Canada-based Rubiales also fell 0.5%, to end at COP44,880.
The Colombian peso strengthened modestly to close at COP1,788.50 to the dollar from COP1,790 a day earlier.
The yield on Colombia’s peso-denominated bond due July 2024 closed at 7.185%, after ending a day earlier at 7.218%.
