Colombian police made 220,201 arrests in 2010

Colombia’s National Police on Friday claimed it had made a total of 220,201 arrests in 2010.

According to Bogota radio station Santa Fe, a report released on Friday said that 79,072 of these asrrested were linked to the production, carrying or trafficking of illicit drugs.

In a report released late December, the police already said crime in 2010 had gone down six percent compared to the year before.
