Colombian police said Thursday four members of the left-wing guerrilla group FARC had been captured in the northwestern Antioquia department, reported newspaper El Colombiano.
Police said that the arrests were made possible by “human sources” and that three months of intelligence work had preceded the police action.
Two hand grenades were also seized, said police.
The captures were made in Amalfi, a municipality some 100 miles northwest of Colombia’s second largest city Medellin.
Police said the four alleged FARC guerrillas belonged to the 36th Front of the FARC, active in northern Antioquia.
