‘Colombian ex-soldiers train Mexican cartel’

by Adriaan Alsema December 13, 2010

Colombia news - Mexico flag

Former members of Colombia’s armed forces train members of Mexican drug cartel Familia Michoacana, Mexican newspaper La Razon reported on Monday.

The newspaper based its allegations on reports by U.S. drug authorities and Mexican state authorities.

According to La Razon, the Colombians are involved in the military training and brainwashing of new recruits in the cult-like drug trafficking organization.

The Familia Michoacana is one of Mexico’s most powerful drug cartels, but reportedly received a serious blow last week when Mexican armed armed forces killed its leader, Nazario Moreno Gonzales, a.k.a. “El Chayo” or “El Mas Loco.”
