Colombia extradites ‘Amphetamine Queen’ to US

by Adriaan Alsema January 8, 2011

Colombia news - Beatriz Henao

Colombia on Friday extradited an alleged drug trafficker dubbed “the Amphetamine Queen,” allegedly tied to the Rastrojos drug gang and wanted by U.S. justice.

Beatriz Elena Henao is accused of having sent massive amounts of amphetamine to Spain, the U.S. and the Netherlands.

Henao was arrested in September 2009 in the city of Pereira and was one of Interpol’s ten most wanted women.

The Amphetamine Queen was one of three alleged Rastrojos allies that were extradited Friday.

Colombia extradited 168 Colombians in 2010.
