Colombia news - Caracol Radio car bomb

Colombian prosecutors have accused a man in connection with a car bombing that wounded nine people and damaged buildings in Bogota last August.

A statement from prosecutors says Edilson Moreno Barragan is “one of those presumed responsible” for the blast.

The statement alleges that Moreno allowed the car bomb to be put together in his shop. He is accused of terrorism and attempted murder.

The August 12 blast in an office district was the first car bomb in the capital since January 2009.

The 110 pound bomb exploded before the main office of Caracol Radio, shattered windows in at least 30 buildings and smashed the facade of a bank.

Prosecutors announced the charges Wednesday. Moreno is being held in La Picota pris on in the capital. (with Associated Press)
