Colombian central bank chairman Jose Dario Uribe has been re-elected to the presidency of the governing board of the Center on Latin American Monetary Studies, or CEMLA, a regional association of central banks.
Uribe will preside over the group, which includes central bankers from around Latin America and the Caribbean, through 2013, said a statement Tuesday from Colombia’s central bank.
CEMLA’s mission is cooperation among member countries to promote a better understanding of monetary and financial issues. Uribe, 52, has been the head of Colombia’s central bank since 2005.
