Passengers who were supposed to have traveled to New York on Sunday were told by Colombian airliner Avianca that they won’t be able to fly until January 13, RCN Radio reported Monday.
The Sunday evening flight was one of 6,000 flights that were canceled because of heavy snowstorms in the New York City area. Because of the extreme weather, the Federal Aviation Administration suspended all air traffic in the north east of the U.S.
A passenger told RCN that Avianca has to reassign a plane, which according to the radio station can’t happen before January 13.
According to American media, the airports Newark and J.F.K. will be reopened Monday evening.
