Uruguay edges Colombia 1-0 in qualifying for U20 World Cup

Adrian Luna’s first-half free kick gave Uruguay a 1-0 victory over Colombia on Monday in the opening game of the second round of South American qualifying for the Under-20 World Cup.

Luna scored in the 42nd minute on a thundering free kick from 25 meters.

In late matches Monday, Argentina was to face Ecuador and Brazil to play Chile.

All six teams in the second round play each other once with the top four advancing to the U20 World Cup later this year in Colombia. The top two advance to the 2012 London Olympics.
