by Toni Peters August 9, 2011

Colombia News - Dead Tourist

Two foreign tourists have been found dead within three days in Cartagena in strange circumstances, local newspaper El Heraldo reported Monday.

John Humeno Uik ended his life by throwing himself from the third floor of the Kim building in the tourist sector Bocagrande.

The 36-year-old Norwegian had been accompanied by a 19-year-old girl from Medellin. The woman was highly intoxicated at the time of the incident but alerted authorities when she realized what had happened. Uik was found dead at the scene. He left two suicide notes, one in English and one in Spanish.

A U.S. citizen was also found dead in the bathroom of a hotel in the historic center of the city. The newspaper provided no details regarding this death.
