Top Colombian firms to promote foreign investment in New York, London

by Hannah Mead June 3, 2013

Colombia’s most important companies are due to participate in events in New York on Tuesday and London on Friday, in an effort to attract foreign investment.

The event, known as Colombia Inside Out, aims to promote the “internationalization of the Colombian capital market,” with the intention of “transforming Colombia into a relevant destination for global investments.”

More than 20 of the most important firms on the Colombian stock exchange, including Ecopetrol and Grupo Aval, will meet with international investors at the Plaza Hotel in New York on Tuesday from 8.30AM.

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos will make an appearance at a subsequent event at London’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel which starts at 8AM on Friday.

The agenda for both the London and New York meetings includes talks on banking and capital markets and oil, energy and mining in Colombia.
