The iconic British rock band “The Cure” is coming to Bogota on April 19 to play their first concert in Colombia.
The gig in Bogota will mark the seventh stop on their 2013 South American tour, with dates lined up in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico.
The band formed in the late 1970s as part of the new wave movement, but over the last three decades they have refashioned their sound within a multitude of genres.
They are most well known for hit singles such as “Friday I’m in Love,” “Close to Me” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”
If their songs are unforgettable, so too is their front man. With his black attire, pale features and novelty-sized black hair, Robert Smith’s striking visage has no doubt been the inspiration for thousands of halloween costumes throughout the years.
The concert will kick off in Simon Bolivar Park at 8PM. Tickets range in price from $75 to $190, and can be purchased beginning February 1 via the Tuboleta website.
More information can be found on the band’s website.
