Spanish police arrested eight people in connection with a drug ring that smuggled cocaine from Colombia to Madrid and then transported it to the Spanish town of Almeria, 255 miles south-east of Madrid.

The driver was arrested by Spanish agents of the Drugs Unit and Organized Crime (UDyCO) with 3 packets of cocaine weighing 1.5 kilograms in total. The arrest led to the arrests of 7 others involved in the trafficking ring and the search of homes in the Spanish town of Roquetas de Mar.
