Soldiers attacked in central Colombia

Four soldiers were injured on Tuesday when unknown attackers threw grenades at their vehicle in central Colombia.

According to the authorities, the attack was carried out by two men on a motorbike who threw two grenades at the soldiers.

Of the four injured, three were regular soldiers and one was a lieutenant.


We want peace, in spite of the acts like this that fill us with pain and solidarity towards the injured soldiers and lieutenant, to who we wish a full and speedy recovery

The attack took place at around 8:40PM on a bridge on the main road between the Colombian capital of Bogota and Villavicencio, the capital of the central Meta province.

According to the authorities, the soldiers had been patrolling on the bridge near the community of Susumuco. Following the attack the road they were transferred to a hospital in Villavicencio.
