Sexy Colombian actress Sofia Vergara will co-host the 2011 BeLive fundraising gala, a charity event that promises a night full of gourmet food, cocktails, entertainment, high fashion, and fun in support of Colombian non-profits.

The BeLive gala, to be held at Florida’s South Beach, raises money for four Colombian non-profits based in the United States; Give to Colombia, Formula Sonrisas, Genesis Foundation, and the ArtNexus Foundation.

BeLive’s main host this year is Lauren Santo Domingo, contributing editor for Vogue Magazine and Co-Founder and Creative Director for Moda Operandi, who will be coordinating the Mochila Wayuu Project.

The project takes 40 hand-woven bags, created by the Wayuu community in Guajira, Colombia to be reworked by some of the world’s most prominent fashion designers, including Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Christian Louboutin, Herve Leger, Helmut Lang, and more.

Once completed, the re-worked bags will be premiered in an elite fashion show at the event, produced by international multi-brand fashion boutique The Webster.

Internationally-renowned Colombian pop sensation Juan Fernando “Fonseca” will also be performing at BeLive, with his unique musical style that mixes both vallenato and cumbia beats, two popular Colombian musical genres.

The event celebrates it’s fifth anniversary this year, and attracts well-respected and famous public figures and celebrities who come to support Colombian non-profits.

BeLive 2011 is scheduled for November 17 at the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach, Florida. Individual tickets are $500.
