Sofia Vergara stars in Burger King commercial (video)

by Lindsay Mathieson April 23, 2012

Burger King

Forget double whoppers and fries — now that Sofia Vergara is the new face of Burger King, the Spanish-speaking audience (and everyone else for that matter) will be drooling over the fast-food chain’s healthier snack options.

The Barranquilla native, known for her role as Gloria on the U.S. television series “Modern Family,” was asked to promote the new salads the restaurant is now offering.

In the new commercial, Vergara wears a Burger King uniform with sexy music playing in the background while making an apple and cranberry salad.

Burger King says the new menu, which includes more than a dozen items, deserves to be represented by “a diverse cast of A-list celebrities representing the many faces of the American melting pot.”

The company has starred other A-listers in their commercials, including fellow Latin American Salma Hayek, Jay Leno and David Beckham..
