Shakira’s debut on Monday as a judge on U.S. talent show The Voice has people swooning.
Shakira and Usher stepped up to fill the shoes of ex-judges Christina Aguilara and Cee Lo Green for season four of the popular singing contest.
Fans of the show were treated to a cover of the Beatles’ Come Together, performed by the four judges. Shakira showed off her secret harmonica skills, while Usher played the bass guitar.
The Colombian popstar was showered with praise for her role on the two hour long season premiere.
“Okay…for real though…Shakira is the sweetest. AND she’s funny. and cool,” one Twitter user swooned.
Fellow judge Adam Levine of Maroon 5 fame described Shakira as a “firecracker” and the show’s executive producer admitted, “she just emanates this light source. It’s hard not to fall in love with her.”
Meanwhile, the Huffington Post commented on the singer’s “colourful” way with words and use of metaphors.
“Make sure that you’re gonna pick the coach that’s gonna be positive, [have] the most faith in you. Faith is the engine, and I have that faith in your talent,” Shakira advised one contestant.
