Colombia news - shakira marquez

Shakira visited fellow Colombian and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature Gabriel Garcia Marquez in Mexico, the singer announced on her Twitter page.

“Unforgettable moments with Gabriel Garcia Marquez in Mexico” were her precise words. The tweet was accompanied by a photograph of the two Costeños (natives of Colombia’s Caribbean coast) sharing an embrace.

The newly enamoured superstar took advantage of being in Mexico where she gave two concerts in the capital and has two more lined up in Guadelajara and Monterrey, to visit the Colombia’s most acclaimed author.

Garcia Marquez, the author of ‘Love in a Time of Cholera’ and ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude,’ has lived in Mexico for many years and keeps a low public profile.
